The Medical-Surgical unit at McNairy Regional Hospital is designed to provide care to patients who require inpatient medical and surgical services.

The Medical-Surgical unit is a general, acute care unit with 32 beds. Of these, 14 are private rooms and nine are semi-private rooms. Each room is equipped with a cable television and telephone. The Medical-Surgical unit also has the capability of providing cardiac monitoring for 12 patients and is staffed with a telemetry tech 24 hours a day.

The Medical-Surgical unit focuses on the acute care needs of medical/surgical patients. It is the responsibility of the staff to meet the needs of the patients within our care by utilizing the standards of medical/surgical nursing practice. This unit manages patients of all ages through the continuum of care by providing the physical, spiritual and psychosocial needs of the patients and their families. Medical/surgical services are available 24 hours a day, seven 7 days a week.

The Medical-Surgical nursing personnel initiate prescribed treatment, medications and supportive nursing care in conformance with recognized nursing techniques and procedures and participate in all hospital training and educational programs that are applicable to the department.
